The 2020 IEEE Global Communications Conference (Globecom) will be held physically in Taipei as scheduled from 7 to 11, December 2020. The organizing team is closely monitoring the development of the COVID-19 situation. In the case of travel restrictions that prohibit physical appearance, video presentations will be accepted as an alternative to the presentations.

Among its industry sessions and exhibitions, IEEE GLOBECOM 2020 will host the 7th Taipei 5G Summit, which will be organized by the 5G Technology Program Office (5GO), Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Taiwan. Since 2014, the Taipei 5G Summit has been an annual event that brings internationally renowned industry experts to share their insights on the development of 5G technologies and attracts hundreds of professionals representing supervisory authorities, policymakers, operators, and key telecommunication companies.
